Cetyl Alcohol is a multifunctional fatty alcohol produced from coconut or palm oil. It belongs to the high HLB emulsifiers, viscosity modifiers, stabilizers, and surfactants classes of ingredients. With an HLB of 15, it helps stabilize oil-in-water formulations. Cetyl Alcohol thickens and improves the texture and consistency of formulations, produces non-jelling emulsions, and boosts the foaming properties of other ingredients. Additionally, it has emollient properties, softening rough, dry skin and protecting against moisture loss.
