Sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides) is a thorny shrub that produces distinctive bright orange/yellow berries. It is a unique herb belonging to the Elaeagnaceae family and is native to Europe and Asia. Unlike other plants, sea buckthorn flowers bud on wood. The berry contains 12 times more vitamin C than oranges, over 20 minerals and 60 antioxidants, and three times more vitamin A than carrots.
