Ethylhexylglycerin is a biodegradable, clear, odorless liquid derived from vegetable glycerin. It functions as an emollient, preservative booster, deodorizer, stabilizer, surfactant, and perfume fixative. It moisturizes and conditions the skin and is often used as an alternative to butylene glycol, propylene glycol, sorbitol, and glycerin. It improves the feel of lotions by reducing tackiness, greasiness, and soapiness. Ethylhexylglycerin is considered an effective active component in deodorant. Additionally, adding Ethylhexylglycerin reduces the preservative content of formulations.
