Hydrolyzed silk is a non-vegan natural humectant and conditioning agent derived from silk fiber. It consists of 18 silk amino acids, with its main constituent, sericin, being similar to keratin. Hydrolyzed silk is soluble in water and has excellent skin permeability. As a humectant, it creates a protective barrier over the skin and helps reduce dehydration.
