Montanov™ 202 is a plant-derived oil-in-water (O/W) emulsifier with hydrating and moisturizing properties. It is a blend of Arachidyl Alcohol, Behenyl Alcohol, and Arachidyl Glucoside, with the latter being the main active component. 
 
Montanov 202 is stable across a wide pH range and heat-resistant. It is compatible with most ingredients; however, caution is advised when formulating with cationic substances (refer to our blog on polymers).  It works well with almost all oils and can stabilize up to 60% of the oil phase. In addition to its emulsifying properties, Montanov 202 creates ultra-glossy creams and emulsions that have a light feel and impart a matte finish on the skin. By forming a film on the skin, it prevents water loss and helps keep the skin hydrated.  It is also eco-friendly—made from 100% renewable resources and readily biodegradable.
