Polyglyceryl-2 Sesquistearate is an ester of glycerin (diglycerin) and stearic acid. It functions as a cleansing agent and a lipophilic (water-in-oil) emulsifier. It can also be used as a hydrophilic emulsifier in oil-in-water formulations. It produces emulsions with excellent spreading properties.
