Polyquaternium 37 is a synthetic cationic polymer that serves as a conditioner, thickener, and auto-emulsifying agent. It can emulsify solutions containing up to 20% oil and produce clear emulsions. Additionally, PQ 37 can create gel solutions without the need for neutralization. Due to its spreading properties and non-tacky feel, it is a favored thickener for creams and lotions. This ingredient is commonly used to condition fine and limp hair, and it remains effective at low pH values.
